I know it has been a hot minute since I’ve last been here…a
by hot minute I mean 2 months…SHOCK!
I’ll come back with a life update video soon me thinks but
until then let’s talk about my favourite thing – make-up!
I’ve found some absolute winners on the high-street lately
that I wanted to share with you guys, because as much as I love make-up most
days I cannot stand the prices…£15 for a lipstick is expensive to me, in fact
anything over £10 is expensive to me for a lipstick – but I digress.
I love a good bargain and these babies have provided me with
great quality as well as leaving me an extra few pennies in my purse.
Every time I go to Oxford Circus (which is regularly) I
always have to visit the Beauty area of H&M. Their beauty range is forever
changing with new products being introduced constantly – or at least that’s what
it feels like!
On my last visit I picked up 3 gorgeous eye shadows:
Ginger Snap which is a gorgeous bronzy gold, this works so
well as a lid shade as well as a highlighter for us brown skin beauties.
Russet Rose which is a rose gold eyeshadow another perfect
lid colour, rose gold seems to compliment everyone.
Canyon Clay is a beautiful matte burnt orange which I was
surprised to find as these are, in my opinion, one of the hardest shadows to
come across, let alone on the high-street.
All eyeshadows are delightfully pigmented for the price, not
amazing but the payoff is there - I cannot complain at all!
I’ve spoken about this fragrance in my post HERE so I won’t
say too much about it but for the price and how beautifully sweet this smells I
had to top up! I mean, at £3.50 each you have to!
I came across this lip pencil a while ago but only picked it
up when I found my local NYX stand in Boots. Urban Café is BOSS! Soooooo
creamy, pigmented and easy to apply, it is also the perfect shade of brown for
all my nude lipstick lovers with brown skin. You can also wear this as an all
over matte lip colour which is the go to lip colour look for Autumn.
Another NYX product that has been on my wish list for the
LONGEST time. I had been debating between London and Abu Dhabi but I went with
Abu Dhabi in the end and I’m glad I did. This colour combined with the Urban Café
lip pencil is perfect! I get the most amazing “your lips but better” lip colour
and the lip cream dries to a very comfortable matte finish.
I know, I know! NARS is not really a “high-street” product
unless you count department stores and Space NK and Lord knows, NARS is pricey,
but imagine my surprise when perusing TK Maxx one day I found a plethora of
discounted NARS items. I almost lost my mind guys! Eye paints, duo eye shadows,
lip products and eye shadows. Bengali had been a shadow that I wanted (along
with Persia) but because of the price I let it go, but after finding it in TK
Maxx for £7.99 I had to pick it up! Absolute bargain considering NARS shadows
are £18.00 a pop!
Last but not least this gem from KIKO. KIKO eye shadows are
gloriously pigmented for the price and I had to pick up this beautiful gold for
my holiday (vlog pending)
My main use for this was as a highlighter and my days, does
it make you look golden, it looks amazing with a tan and stunning on deeper
skin tones. It’s also so buttery to the touch. I don’t have a bad word to say
about this or KIKO’s eye shadows in general. It’s a win!
I love me a good high street shop – the things you can find!
Let me know what gems you’ve found on the high-street!
