I love a good matte nude lipstick and this one is no exception.
Let me introduce my latest addition
I was umming and ahhing over this lipstick for a long time, I mean £15 aint cheap but after seeing Nana endorse this and having a swatchfest at Fabled I could not get this out of mind.
So during the Christmas sales I took myself to Feel Unique who were having a sale on UD products and I took advantage of the Feel Unique Brand For Life (10% off any one brand on FU for 6 months) so in the end I managed to bag this £13.50 which didn't hurt as much as £15.50.
Now, as weird as this may sound late last year was the first time I had ever tried an Urban Decay lipstick.
I know, I am SOO late, but I figured I came in at the right time as UD re-branded their entire lipstick range.
I had my eye on a few but I came back to 1993 time and time again.
1993 is what I would call a pinkish brown matte with a slight peach undertone.
The comfort matte label is true to word.
This shade is matte but not super drying like some matte lippies *cough, cough MAC*
I found this shade to be pigmented with a smooth application, I felt no tugging at all when applying which is a plus for me, hell, it's a plus for anyone.
One thing I do find a bit odd about this lipstick is how it applies, almost like a liquid lipstick, I find when you first apply it, it's creamy with a light sheen but as the hours pass it dries to a comfortable matte but I don't have an issue with this, it doesn't ruin the texture at all.
Wear time is pretty good, bear in mind I'm eating and drinking throughout the day, I feel like I only have to lightly reapply once during office hours.
So, do I like this lipstick?
Hell yeah!
It's an effortless warm, no fuss nude that looks great on PoC - what's not to love?
I find myself wearing this to work as it's perfect for an "office nude" but obviously you're not restricted to that.
This will definitely be a repurchase and a go to lip colour for everyday wear, in fact, I loved this shade so much I went out and bought the recently released liquid lipstick version of this, see my NYC Haul HERE for more info!
I'll bring a separate review to the blog soon!
