You may not be aware but Sleek know how to do highlighters - PRETTTTY well!
This can definitely be seen with their new Distorted Dreams Collection*
The Distorted Dreams collection is a small but statement collection consisting of:
- Distorted Dreams Highlighting Palette
- 3 Metallic Matte Me Lip Creams in Roman Copper, Rusted Rose and Volcanic
If you love highlighters this is seriously the collection for you.
The star product here for me is the Highlighting Palette.
This palette contains 3 cream highlighters and 2 powder highlighters.
The packaging is gorgeous, not so practical for smudgy hands BUT fantastic mirror wise!
I have to admit when I opened it up I wasn't blown away, I just saw a bunch of odd coloured highlighters but the magic really hit me when I swatched it.
Firstly, these highlighters are GORGEOUS and they all seem to work pretty well on cooca skin!
The creams are very pliable, they would work really well for an editorial shoot and should really be set with a corresponding highlighting powder for longevity.
The powders in this palette are pretty pigmented.
I swatched the golden powder in my picture above and check out the pink highlighting powder swatched HERE (in case you weren't aware pink highlighters look DELICIOUS on dark skin)
You may think what are you going to do with a green and blue highlighting cream (unless you're down with the unicorn highlighting trend), don't worry I thought that too, but these creams can also be used on the eyes or the lips as well.
If you like a good inner corner highlight you can definitely use one of the creams as a base for an inner corner highlight or as a lip topper (imagine that blue cream over a black base...GORGE)
The Matte Me Lip Creams are equally as interesting!
Let me say I've never really been one for metallic lips, I find a lot of them tend to be ashy on brown/black skin but I like Sleek's idea of basically labelling these as lip toppers.
I used Volcanic over a nude matte lipstick and the effect was nice but I feel these would be much more versatile if they were glosses.
All in all I would say the star product here is definitely the palette, you can really get some good use out of it and it is soo pretty!
The Distorted Dreams Highlighting Palette will retail for £10.99 and the Matte Me Metallics will retail for £4.99 each.
Available from the 31st May from Superdrug.
